Spring Break of Serving - New Orleans 2013
April 1-6
Our Mission Team of 13 people will depart April 1 - the Monday after Easter - and fly to New Orleans Monday morning and return the following Saturday. While there we will support the ongoing ministry of Trinity Christian Community. Click Here to learn more about this ministry.
We'll be staying in the housing facilities of TCC.
During the day, we will have two teams involved in ministry:
- Clearing Lots - Outdoor work in the HollyGrove community clearing abandoned lots cleans up the neighborhood, minimizes crime, improves drainage and builds friendships in the nieghborhood.
- Reading Intervention - We will provide special training before we depart so our team can be part of a reading clinic that we will do with students at the Lafayette Academy Charter School in the neighborhood.
Summer Mission Yard Sale was Saturday, March 9 at Christ Covenant - 5044 Plank Rd. Thanks to all who made this a fun and effective event, raising just over $1,000 for the trip.

- Express Auto Spa - has donated 50 passes for their best car wash services - The Supreme - for sale at $15 with all proceeds going to our NOLA 2013 Mission trip. You can purchase coupons from NOLA team before or after worship this Sunday or make arrangements by contacting Turn on JavaScript!. This service usually costs $30. You can use the coupons anytime before May 31 during regular Express Auto Spa hours. Check their website for more details on services.
- Yard Work For Hire - If you have other yard work tasks that you need done, the NOLA Mission team can arrange to get them done for a donation to the Summer Missions fund. Simply Turn on JavaScript! or at worship to make arrangements.
- Designate Gifts - You can give to the general costs of the mission or to help cover costs of a particular participant. Simply mark "NOLA 2013" in your check memo. Include a participant's name if you want to further designate.
